Full Time & Part Time PCV Coach Driver

We are seeking a proactive, highly motivated, and hardworking individual to join our team at our head office in Stocklake, Aylesbury, Bucks.

Job Description

As one of our a PCV Coach Drivers, you will be responsible for the smooth running of your driving duties, which will vary and will include:

  • School Contracts
  • Private Hires
  • Day Trips
  • Feeder Services
  • Touring Holidays & Short Breaks in both the UK and Europe

You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and proactively managing a variety of relationships with our passengers and your fellow drivers.

As a member of the driving team, you will be reporting directly to our Senior Operations Manager and our General Manager. In addition, you will work closely with the rest of the Operations Team and our team of Drivers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing safe and reliable coach transport for our passengers
  • Fulfilling the required duties assigned to each particular driving role
  • Assisting passengers when needed while onboard our coaches
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensuring you maintain our high level of customer satisfaction
  • Answering passenger queries and keeping them informed at all times

Must Haves

  • A full PCV license and current CPC card
  • Living within 20 miles of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
  • The skills required to fulfil all the driving duties outlined above
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A friendly, approachable manner
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a variety of people.
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to analyse information to solve general queries.
  • An understanding of coaches and coach travel

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge and understanding of travel within the UK and Europe
  • Previous experience in driving tri-axle coaches
  • A valid passport to be able to do European tour work
  • Experience of tour driving in Europe

Pay Structure:

– Trainee rate: £12.25/hr

*Retention Scheme:

Unlike many other training programmes, once you complete your training you’ll immediately receive the full coach driver wage that all Motts drivers earn. As part of our commitment to long-term development, £1 for every hour you work is placed into our Retention Scheme—taken from your hourly wage and set aside to reward your continued service. After 6 months, 50% of your Retention pot is paid out to you, and after 12 months the remaining balance is released, both through your payslip and subject to standard tax and NI. It’s a supportive way to recognise your dedication and help you benefit from staying and growing with us.

Yard Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, proactive and hardworking Yard Assistant to join our team at our head office in Stocklake, Aylesbury.

Working alongside our existing Yard Assistants, you will help ensure that our fleet of coaches and buses is clean, fuelled and fully prepared for its next journey. This is a hands-on role requiring good attention to detail, a positive attitude and pride in maintaining high standards.

The Role

Your main responsibility will be preparing vehicles in accordance with the daily operational plan. This will include cleaning coaches and buses internally and externally, refuelling them and completing basic preparation checks. You will also be responsible for helping to keep the yard clean, tidy and safe.

The role reports to the Management Team and involves working closely with the other Yard Assistants, our Operations and Workshop teams, and our drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing coaches and buses for private hire, school, day-trip and holiday work
• Cleaning vehicles internally and externally to a consistently high standard
• Refuelling vehicles and completing the required preparation checks
• Checking vehicle facilities and replenishing supplies where required
• Promptly reporting any damage, defects or concerns to the appropriate manager or Workshop team
• Helping to maintain a clean, organised and safe yard
• Moving vehicles around the premises where appropriately licensed and authorised
• Supporting the Operations and Workshop teams with other reasonable duties when required
• Following company procedures and all relevant health and safety requirements

Must Haves:

• A reliable and punctual approach to work
• A good level of physical fitness, as this is an active and physically demanding role
• Strong attention to detail
• Enthusiasm and pride in your work
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A full UK driving licence
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends according to the needs of the business

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in vehicle cleaning, valeting, yard work or a similar practical role
• Experience of working with commercial vehicles
• An understanding of coaches, buses or the passenger transport industry

Hours and Pay

The hourly rate for this position is £12.75 per hour.

Hours will vary depending on the volume of work and vehicle movements, but the successful applicant should normally expect to work approximately 45–50 hours per week.

A typical weekday shift will be 2.00pm–10.00pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend working also required to meet the operational needs of the business. Some flexibility will be necessary, as working hours may change depending on the daily workload.
